Making Maple Syrup

Two weeks ago my cousin and I toured a maple sugar camp several miles south of Grand Isle, this camp has been operating since 1950. maple syrup 1
many acres of sugar maples are tapped.

where an evaporator will boil away the excess water to make maple syrup

trees that are too far or close are tapped the old fashion way using pails

rolling the hot syrup that has cooled and gelled on the snow is a treat not soon forgotten...
