Hello? ... Richard Dawkins, a scientist and atheist interviews Pastor Ted Haggard, a staunch G.W. Bush Republican supporter. ... Dawkins considers counseling youth to Christianity to be a form of "child abuse." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FiHRVb_uE0

Bob & Judy
We hope the fires are not near you and that all is well.
Fires are nothing to deal with if Forestry says go pack up the family and the dogs and BOOGIE and don't come back until the all clear is given.
We have almost lost our house several times the last fire here burnt right up to the power line on the back side of the property.
Just cant say it enough if you are told to GO just GO
Hoping for the best down there

And Jim, Did George Washington really swear an oath as a Mason that he specifically believed in Jesus Christ? ... Not being a Mason, I don't know if those initiated have to specify the Higher Power they believe in. ... Masons can also be Jews, Muslims, Hindus, etc. ... I discovered my late uncle (a good man) was a Mason, and he never mentioned Jesus to me.... Here's a Christian writer I found on the Web who boldly concludes that Masons are "intolerant."

Hello Jim, ... Based on some web-research, I have a hunch the "legend" of George Washington kneeling in prayer at Valley Forge is historically true. ... Washington came close to getting shot or tomahawked more than once.

... The original painter was Arnold Friberg, a devout Mormon, raised by Mormon parents. ... I'm sure glad he included George's horse!

Steve
In response to your post 88150

I'm glad we agree.
I'm pretty sure Both Washington and Jefferson believed in God too, regardless of what the Johnney come lately so called historians say. Look at what they did...not what someone says about them.
For example, they both put their hand on the Bible, and swore an oath to God, to uphold the Constitution. And as a Mason, George Washington, the first grand master mason of the United States, swore an oath that he believed in Jesus Christ. And I'm pretty sure you've seen the picture of George Washington (when he was General of the Continental Army), kneeling, beside his horse, and praying to God Almighty. There are many more documented instances by both, that demonstrate that they believed in God. I don't understand why some people want to tear them down and make them something less. They were the first and third Presidents of the US, and did much to make this nation what it is today. As a sidenote, we should have no more stopped celebrating George Washington's birthday on 22 February, than we should stop celebrating 4 July as our nation's birthday..... Our current politicians made a mistake there...let's hope they change it back to his real birthday.

Now to your "a Creator (which could be evolution?)" statement.... I don't understand what you mean. The creation theory, i.e. God created the heavens and earth, is the opposite of the evolution theory, i.e. that the heavens and earth came from nothing after a "big bang", and "evolved" from there, or so I thought. Am I mistaken? What does your book say about evolution versus creation? Is it not logical? What would be your definition of the evolution theory? Does it come out of the "big bang" theory? All of this is puzzling and illogical to me, and I would welcome your thoughts and views.
