Mona, your right not many people on here are on those programs but my cousins from Caribou are on some of the programs and they couldn't get along without them. They haven't been able to work or get a job in awhile. One cousin has cancer and is having a terrible time.

This Moose was in DownTown Anchorage yesterday headed to his favorite coffee shop.
In Anchorage there is a large population of moose within the city

I have great respect for Maine and only want the State and it's people to be seen and remembered as fair, helpful, hardworking, honest, and tolerant.
I have seen entries on this site from other states and other countries. We all make impressions on others, so remember that.
Everytime I tell anyone I was born and raised in Maine....
I hear "ahhh, ohhh, I always want to go there someday !"
Let us keep this as Jeff wants an advertisement of our beautiful home.

MoroseII, I doubt that anyone on here are on any of the mentioned programs, from what I gather, they are working or a lot of Retirees And they don't give out surplus food any more, that ended many years ago.

From my experience, those who resort to name calling, do so because they have no facts to back up whatever it is they wish they could refute, so they'll resort to calling the other person a name, when they reply with their post.
With about half, (49% according to Fox News reports) of our population receiving government hand-outs of one form or another, (like food stamps/credit card, assisted housing, fuel assistance, new roofs, storm windows,Government surplus cheese, etc.), you have to be very careful of what you post here, because those recipients do not like to admit that they are on the dole.  And they take offense, when they are reminded. Make sense? Just wait and see how long it takes before this one gets voted off.

in defense of p burtt (not that he needs it) I have yet to see where he has resorted to name calling. I suspect that his comments are so fusturating to certain people that jerk winds up being the only word left in their vocabulary.
