Roughly 90 years ago, these Presque Isle men made the ultimate sacrifice, in 'the war to end all wars.'

My Mother had some great sayings;
"leaning toward Sawyers"'
On seeing a person pulling at his underwear - "He must be going to the movies. He's picking out his seat." Yeah, that's gross.
I had a friend who said about someone who looked disheveled. "She looks like she was rode hard and put up wet."
"I was in such a hurry I only had time to sh--, shave, and saddle up."

Marilyn, Aroostook Centre Mall is having a craft fair. Today I spotted a bracket fungi, with a line drawing of a deer.
Price tag? $45! ... Told the lady I would have bought it, had it been a crow.

From June 1 to July 31, Presque Isle District Court handled 175 cases. Two involved littering.
Both men, ages 38 and 48, are from Mapleton. ... Each received a $100 fine.

This is one of my favorites
Thanks to Carlton County Colloquialisms
jeepers \'jeep-urz\ interj - Corrupted form of the pejorative "Jesus," used in a manner similar to "jeez", "frigg", and "friggit". Although used interchangebly as an exclamation of frustration or wonder, jeepers can be considered the child-friendly (and therefore, acceptable) version of other pejoratives that are used in a similar manner; "Jeepers! The blackflies are some bad!" See also: Geehover, holy-liftin', jeez, frigg.
My favorite is when I hear someone swearing, If I hear "Son of A Bit--" I know I am in the "city", If I hear "Son of A Who--" I know I am in the County.
