The Limestone Recreation Department will hold their 1st annual Winter Tip-off Benefit Co-ed Basketball Tournament on Dec. 8 from 1 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the Veteran’s Gymnasium. The Recreation Department has partnered with the Maine School of Science and Mathematics to hold this tournament with all proceeds to benefit the Caribou Soup Kitchen’s ceiling project. The cost to participate is $30 per team and area community members are invited to come and enjoy watching the tournament – or enter a team of their own. The Limestone SnowHawks, the area snowmobile club, will be offering refreshments for individuals to enjoy as a fundraiser for their club throughout the tournament. Door prizes will also be given out throughout the evening and include: sports memorabilia, tickets to sporting events, apparel, gym passes to County Physical Therapy and UMPI’s Gentile Hall, coupons to Olympia Sports, gift certificates to local businesses, and more! For more information about this event or to register a team, contact Sara Martin at the Limestone Recreation Department at 325-4791 or email@example.com.
